AssistMed Duet™ Natural Language Processing (NLP) tecnology utilizes powerful syntactic and semantic engines to identify clinical facts in free text and converts them to SNOMED and UMLS codes then encapsulates this data in an XML file for upload into your healthcare systems.

ICD and CPT mapping enables computer-assisted coding (CAC) for reimbursement. This in turn increases productivity allowing the coder to verify and edit, rather than code from scratch.

Duet's NLP solution actually “understands” what the text means. For example, it knows that breast cancer and breast carcinoma are the same concept. It can tell if the document describes a definitive finding, an uncertain or rule-out condition, an indication of a family history, or if it is negated.

Duet's NLP allows physicians to continue documenting in their easiest, most productive manner, while providing the output advantages of structured/codified, templated documentation.
