AssistMed deploys advanced speech recognition technology that requires no change in physician documentation workflow and no increase in the time to document. AssistMed’s "back-end" speech recognition, DUET™, processes dictations in the background, so it is invisible to physicians.
Using three speech recognition engines, AssistMed DUET back-end speech recognition software goes beyond the speech-to-text output that is seen with traditional front-end speech recognition systems. Front-end speech recognition requires physicians to train the software and format the output, reducing their productivity.
DUET back-end speech recognition auto-formats and auto-corrects the narrative text. The processed, formatted, and corrected document is then passed to a Medical Editor or back to the healthcare organization for minor editing and review.
With DUET back-end speech recognition, physicians dictate as usual - utilizing a smartphone, portable digitial recorder, telephone, or PC microphone. The audio file is processed through the speech recognition engines in the background. The engines learn from the physician’s audio files, which train the engine automatically. No training of the speech recognition engine is required by the physician.
Go Beyond Speech-to-Text
✔ Processes, auto-corrects, and auto-formats physicians’ dictations
✔ Adapts to and learns the individual speech patterns
✔ Eliminates the training & template setup that exists with front-end speech recognition
✔ Distributes the output file & finished report to EHRs & HISs
✔ Provides XML, PDF, DOC, & RTF output files.
