✔ The digital pen captures the information that is written on the forms and also stores an image of the forms.
✔ The digital pen transfers the data written on the forms in a secure, encrypted format through a USB or Bluetooth connection.
✔ The data are processed on AssistMed's server.
✔ For every form, three files are produced from the data captured:
1. A PDF image of the original handwritten form
2. A PDF image of the handwriting-recognized form
3. An XML file of the form data captured
✔ The completed forms are available online for review and editing/sign-off or are exported to a clinical or billing system.
✔ Form data can be exported into specific fields into multiple recipient systems.
✔ The files can be distributed to other caregivers or healthcare facilities - to a referring physician or to a billing company.

• In a medical office setting, a superbill can be digitally sent to a billing company, while an authorization form can be sent to a payer.
• In a hospital setting, a copy of the form can be routed to the pharmacy, while another copy can be routed to the medical records department.
