Cape Medical Billing Implements AssistMed Digital Pen & Paper Forms

LOS ANGELES, CA – March 7, 2011 – AssistMed, Inc. today announced the results of an informal survey demonstrating improved time- and cost-savings to physicians and billing services through the utilization of the company’s Duet Digital Pen and Custom Form applications product, compared with traditional methods for capturing and delivering patient encounter data.

"We have seen improvements in processing efficiency of up to 50 percent by utilizing AssistMed’s technology, which eliminates the need to scan or fax the patient charges prior to entry. An added benefit is seamless data backup. Equally important, the elimination of manual data entry will enable our company to support new clients without requiring additional staff," said Rich Papperman, Chief Executive Officer of New Jersey-based Cape Medical Billing.

Papperman also stated, “Getting our clients paid faster is an important reason we agreed to try this technology. Of course, getting paid faster is an important issue for most providers! Depending on how a provider’s current charges are being managed, this technology can make a major difference in their speed of payment.”

AssistMed-HealthPac Announce Integration for Medical Billing

LOS ANGELES, CA and SAVANNAH, GA – April 13, 2010 – AssistMed, Inc. and HealthPac Computer Systems, Inc. today announced the integration of AssistMed’s DuetTM data capture technology with HealthPac’s HPlus ProTM patient accounting and control system to enhance professional healthcare services.

The integration supports the use of a digital pen and custom forms service offered by AssistMed with automated delivery of all necessary data for charge capture and billing.

“By combining these two technologies, we are able to offer documentation immediately to the physician’s office and billing service,” said Raul Kivatinetz, president and chief operating officer of AssistMed, Inc. “This enhances a physician’s revenue cycle, supported by better coding and improved billing procedures. In addition, Duet eases and accelerates the adoption of electronic health records, without affecting physician productivity.”

The integration eliminates the need for faxing, scanning or re‐keying of data from encounter forms into the HealthPac HPlus Pro system by delivering relevant charge data directly to the system for posting. The elimination of manual processes for both the medical practice and the billing service provider reduces costs, while enhancing efficiency in the billing process.
“We are always seeking ways to provide our clients with a greater return on their HealthPac investment,” said B.D. “Buddy” Claborn Jr, chief executive officer of HealthPac Computer Systems. “This integration with AssistMed further simplifies the charge capture process for the physician, the medical staff and the posting process for the billing personnel. It is a win‐win on both sides of the transaction.”
